Sea-Teacher Program
OPENING CEREMONY
![]() |
The opening ceremony, held on September 25th, served as a farewell to our friends Kevin and Puja, who arrived before us, and to our Vietnamese friends. We presented an Indonesian dance and invited the audience to participate. Proudly dressed in traditional Indonesian attire, I felt honored to represent my country. After the opening ceremony, we from the same university came onstage to present tokens to the President of SLU. We also received souvenirs from SLU. One of the teachers, Miss Theresita, asked us to share an experience onstage, and I represented UPI by delivering a speech. Therefore, it was my initial attempt to give an address in English before the SLU staff and members. I felt apprehensive, but I completed my presentation, which relieved me immensely. Following the speech, we had lunch and savored the traditional Filipino cuisine served that day.
CLASS OBSERVATION
Three days after our arrival, the program teacher overseeing our observation visited. We went to a school called Navy Base and had a brief presentation and tour upon arrival. Later, I met with my coordinating teacher, Sir Marlon L. Pawid. Sir Marlon requested my presence to observe his Physical Education class. He assigned me to assist in guiding students on how to properly conduct a FITT test. Sir Marlon teaches grades 9 and 10, and the class meets every day, given that Physical Education is only offered once per week. Due to the limited schedule, we must cover the same subject matter every day until the last class, which is on Fridays.
TEACHING PRACTICUM
FINAL DEMONSTRATION
My final demonstration was held on October 10, 2023. I taught a sports officiating class focused on basketball, and this was my lesson plan.
